EDISON OPTO Secures Global Patent License from Current for KSF (PFS) Red Phosphor Core Technologies
Edison Opto Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “EDISON”) hereby formally announces that it has entered into a patent licensing agreement with Current Lighting Solutions, LLC (hereinafter referred to as “Current”), pursuant to which EDISON has obtained the legal right to utilize key patented technologies related to KSF (K₂SiF₆:Mn⁴⁺, also known as PFS) red phosphor on a global basis.
Under the terms of the agreement, Current confirms its ownership of a portfolio of patents, including but not limited to U.S. Patent Nos. 7,497,973; 7,847,309; 7,358,542; 7,648,649; 9,680,067; and 7,453,195, as well as any and all foreign counterparts, divisionals, continuations, continuations-in-part, reissues, and reexaminations thereof (collectively, the “Current Patents”).
Current has granted EDISON a non-exclusive, worldwide, and royalty-bearing license under the Current Patents, thereby enabling EDISON to incorporate these patented technologies into its current and future product offerings. This agreement ensures full compliance with patent laws across all markets in which EDISON operates.
The licensing agreement has been reviewed and validated by the legal counsel of both parties, and its terms are fully enforceable under the applicable intellectual property legal frameworks. This agreement affirms EDISON’s authorized use of the Current Patents and further strengthens EDISON’s global intellectual property position and risk management practices within the LED industry.
