Edison Opto Corporation was founded in 2001. In its early years, the company focused on mid- to high-power LED lighting components, expanding across foundational markets while cultivating its R&D capabilities and technical strengths. To date, the company has developed LED components, DOB, AC modules, DC modules, automotive lighting applications, horticultural lighting, and street lighting products, aiming to expand market and become a pioneer in Taiwan’s lighting industry, establishing a leading integrated lighting design and service group.

2022
  • Official lauch of the global operations headquarters.
2021
  • Officially moved into the new headquarter building and expanded the Taipei Zhonghe plant’s finished lighting product line, progressing toward an EMS operations layout.
  • Celebrated Edison Opto’s 20th anniversary.
2020
  • Acquired Taiwan Technology Plaza in New Taipei City as the global operation headquarter.
  • Edison - Litek Opto Taipei plant officially commenced operations.
2019
  • Approved by the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, as a qualified operation headquarters.
  • Invested in the establishment of Yangzhou Aichuang Electronic Trading Corporation.
2018
  • Invested in the establishment of Edison-Egypt Opto.
  • Achieved IATF16949 international quality certification and successfully developed the Dong Feng series automotive products.
2017
  • Established Edison - Litek Opto Corporation in Taipei.
2015
  • Completion of Edison Opto Yangzhou Phase II plant.
  • Grand opening of Yangzhou Edison - Litek Opto; the Yangzhou plant covers 67,000㎡ and officially commenced operations.
  • Obtained TS16949 certification.
2014
  • Transitioned from PLCC component sales to module development tailored to customer needs, and began to expand into automotive lighting LED applications.
2013
  • Opened a U.S. subsidiary, officially expanding into the North American lighting market.
2012
  • Obtained UL safety laboratory certification.
2011
  • Announced the LDMS integrated service concept.
2010
  • Listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under ticker 3591 (TWSE: 3591).
2009
  • Successfully developed the ultra-high-power 100W EdiStar module and introduced it into mass production.
  • Grand opening of Yangzhou Edison Opto Corporation, officially adding a new manufacturing base.
  • Developed high-brightness PLCC 1W 5050 products and Flash Series LED components.
2008
  • Successfully developed the Federal collection, which became Edison Opto’s main product line for multi-color LEDs.
2007
  • Successfully developed Ediline linear packaged high-power LEDs and commenced mass production.
  • Monthly high-power LED production capacity reached 4KK; the company obtained approval for a public stock offering and was registered on the Emerging Stock Board.
2006
  • Established Edison Opto(Dong Guan) Co., Ltd.
  • Successfully developed the ultra-high-power EdiStar module and proceeded to mass production; in December, Edison Opto announced the "100W ultra-high-power LED" research achievement, with EdiStar high-power LEDs reaching luminous outputs up to 6,000 lumens.
2005
  • Successfully developed the EdiPower 5W–20W high-power COB and commenced mass production.
  • Achieved SGS ISO 9001 international quality certification for the first time.
  • Achieved SGS ISO 14001 international environmental management system certification.
  • Successfully developed 5W LED commercial spotlights, marking the company’s entry into LED luminaire development.
  • Obtained RoHS certification for the first time; in the same year, Edison Opto received the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ 100W ultra-high-power LED research project grant and announced the acheivements of the EdiStar development.
2004
  • Successfully developed 50M Datalink optical transmission components and commenced mass production.
  • Expanded the Zhonghe production plant to 4,463 square meters and invested in additional plant equipment to focus on professional high-power LED manufacturing.
  • Successfully developed 1W–5W high-power LED components and began mass production.
  • Successfully developed the Tensor rotary sensing component and began mass production.
2003
  • Developed the first 25M Datalink optical transmission components and introduced them into mass production.
  • Successfully developed the EdiSensor optical mouse sensing component and began mass production.
2002
  • Successfully developed Datalink optical transmission components and commenced automated mass production.
  • Launched an investment project for producing "optical transmission transceiver modules" and being approved by the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs as an emerging strategic industry project.
2001
  • Edison Opto Corporation was founded in October, 2001.
