Human Rights Policy
Edison values the fundamental rights of employees and fosters a friendly environment for the protection of human rights. The company strictly abides by relevant labor laws and, in accordance with the principles set forth in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the International Labour Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, respects internationally recognized basic human rights. These include freedom of association, care for vulnerable groups, prohibition of child labor, elimination of all forms of forced labor, eradication of employment and workplace discrimination, prevention of any infringement or violation of human rights, protection of gender equality, and fair treatment for all employees. Edison’s compensation policy ensures that employee salaries are determined without regard to gender, age, religion, race, or political stance.
At the same time, Edison complies with labor and human rights laws at all operating sites as well as customer requirements. The company has established human rights policies and related regulations. These are communicated to employees through announcements, events, publications, and meetings. In addition, human rights protection and labor rights are repeatedly emphasized during onboarding training for new hires and ongoing training for existing employees.
Furthermore, the company has set up grievance and whistleblowing channels available to all employees. Complaints are handled by designated personnel, who conduct responsible investigations while keeping the complainant’s information confidential. If the complaint is verified, the company guarantees that no adverse action will be taken against the complainant. In 2024, Edison conducted internal training courses on human rights–related topics, totaling 244 training hours with 159 participants, and there were no recorded violations of the human rights policy during the year.
