Green Design
"Green products" are environmentally friendly products that save energy, and have low power consumption. They are non-toxic and recyclable. Edison Group, with LED manufacturing as its core business, provides customers with a Lighting Design Manufacturing Service (LDMS) platform, continuously developing high-efficiency, low-energy green products to achieve emission and waste reduction performance.
R&D continues to invest resources in product design and development, creating diversified products with the concept of innovation and sustainability. Through the LDMS platform, products are developed under the concept of green design, utilizing environmentally friendly materials and complying with safety regulations to meet customer needs. In the past three years, the Company’s annual R&D expenditure accounted for about 6% of total revenue, while R&D staff accounted for 12% of total employees.

Edison Opto manages its products through lifecycle management to reduce environmental impacts while providing green product services, and at the same time ensures that products and services comply with health and safety standards across various countries.
By integrating the concept of the circular economy, Edison Opto reduces the environmental impact of products by improving energy efficiency, using raw materials free of hazardous substances, and designing products and packaging for recycling. All efforts are made in compliance with product health and safety regulations, striving to balance product management with environmental friendliness, and providing products with greater environmental and commercial competitiveness.
In response to energy conservation and carbon reduction, green design has been incorporated as one of the company’s core values. The concept of the circular economy has been gradually introduced into products, promoting the “Green Circular Design” Concepts: Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse. These principles are applied throughout every stage of the product lifecycle to minimize resource waste and environmental pollution.

Product Health and Safety
Edison Opto is committed to ensuring that products comply with health and safety regulatory standards, conducting full-process monitoring from design, production, and shipment. Each stage undergoes internal testing or external qualified organization inspections, strictly ensuring compliance with national regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Edison Opto implements various quality management operations. Both Taiwan and China plants have obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, and the automotive production line has obtained IATF16949 quality system certification. By establishing a quality system management, the company demonstrates its determination to pursue zero defects. Along with continuous quality improvement programs and activities, Edison Opto continues to enhance performance, meet the expectations of numerous international customers, and strive to maximize customer satisfaction.
Hazardous Substance Management
Edison Opto's products implement hazardous substance management. Green and environmentally friendly products are integrated throughout the design and development process, with each process undergoing inspections by internal or external qualified organizations to ensure compliance with international, national, and customer environmental regulations.

At the product evaluation stage, all related materials are assessed according to operational procedures, including environmental controlled substance requirements. Only approved materials can enter the procurement resource pool.
Establishing REACH & RoHS management systems, tracking material suppliers, and requiring them to regularly provide reports for confirmation.
Conducting strict environmental sampling tests and controls before raw materials enter the warehouse, during the production process, and at OQC shipment stages.
Implementing material traceability management mechanisms to enable tracking when necessary.
Implementing REACH & RoHS management throughout the entire product life cycle.
All products comply with RoHS, REACH, and other regulatory requirements. All materials are subject to identification and classification management, and monitoring is carried out for raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
In 2024, none of the company’s products experienced any REACH & RoHS non-conformance issues, nor did the company receive any customer complaints related to REACH & RoHS.
Conflict Minerals Management
"All of Edison Opto's products comply with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, or equivalent and recognized due diligence frameworks, as well as other legal and regulatory requirements. The company does not directly purchase raw materials from smelters or refiners. To avoid human rights disasters caused by minerals originating from conflict zones in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and surrounding countries, as well as other high-risk areas, and to reduce supply chain management risks, the company has established a conflict minerals policy and implemented a responsible minerals procurement management process for suppliers.
The company does not accept or use tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold, cobalt, or other minerals originating from conflict zones in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, surrounding countries, or other high-risk areas. To achieve this commitment, the group hereby declares:
All suppliers of procured materials must comply with environmental regulations.
Suppliers must ensure that the materials and products provided to the company do not use tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold, cobalt, or other minerals originating from conflict zones in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, surrounding countries, or other high-risk areas.
Suppliers must establish a responsible mineral procurement management system with reference to the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, or equivalent recognized frameworks and legal requirements.
Suppliers must trace minerals used in the supply chain and truthfully report the usage and sources of tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold, cobalt, and other minerals in products to the company through CMRT, EMRT, and other reporting methods.
Suppliers must commit to complying with the group’s responsible minerals procurement policy and submit a conflict-free minerals declaration to qualify as an approved supplier of the group.
While Edison Opto strives for environmental sustainability, we also pay attention to suppliers’ growth in environmental and social aspects of sustainability. We expect that through supplier management, we can gradually work together with suppliers to achieve industry sustainability."
Product Label Management
In addition to customized product labels, Edison Opto ensures that product labels on shipped products disclose necessary product specification information and, in accordance with regulatory requirements, display the required certification marks or industry marks on the labels.
In 2024, Edison Opto did not experience any incidents of fines, warnings, or product recalls due to violations of regulations.
